Before anything else I thought I'd share with you an old piece of news which I'd hate to think you might have missed.

Greetings from sunny Stuttgart. Last night I had dinner with colleagues from the finance and M&A departments of Holtzbrinck. The 'controller' for Macmillan was there and here are his memories:

'Having had dinner in a typically Swabian Weinstube in down-town Stuttgart we were just about to leave. At that moment a very attractive, open-minded lady came to our table just having been eavesdropping our conversation. She introduced herself and conceded that she was listening to our talks for quite a while. She told us that she was looking for a British man to take her to the UK - and she made very clear that she knows what she wants: A British man, middle-aged, grey-haired, living in London and by the way, he should be wealthy. She seemed to be quite desperate. Last year she got to know a British man looking like Hugh Grant, living near Basingstoke. She found her presumed love for life via the online partner agency Parship - what are the odds? But in the end (after 4 weeks) it didn't work out.

Richard, the landlord of Parship UK, couldn't really bring himself to take her with him to London and to offer her a job (maybe as his new assistant?) and of course free living. So he made a deal with her: He promised her to get a three months' free access to Parship to find the right British man.

Will see what happens...for further report.'

Hello Richard,

fantastic story! We have contacted your new girl-friend this morning, she is the proud owner of a 6 months free of charge subsription. That´s the least we could do for our landlord and all the free advertising we got last night.

Regards
Arndt

I wonder what was wrong with the first chap she met - 'British man looking like Hugh Grant, living near Basingstoke'? Was it the lack of grey hair?

hi,
great that you share the story here on this blog!
I was out last night, with my friend....we were just ready to leave the Weinstube, down-town Stuttgart...Suddenly my friend walked to the table next to us and introduced herself.
The rest of the story you know.
What a funny moment, but also what a coincidence!
So we´ll see what Parship offers to my very attractive and open-mined friend.
You wonder what was wrong with the last British man she got, he was not ready at all
for a relationship...(still married with a thai woman)=(
It was a very, very sad and disappointing story!!
Hope the best for her and my be I´ll visit her someday in London...

Hello Richard.
Thank you for the compliments, that I am a very attratice woman.
Here is the real story:
A year ago, few weeks before my 39th birthday I was with two friends,in the same Weinstube, as last night.
They ask me what I want as a birthday present, I said: "A British man" - and they found one via Parship UK. for me!
Me and Jonathan dated for almost one year. But he was living in an uncleared marriage situation with a Thai Woman, living in Bankok. Our relationship ended when she memorized that she still got a whelthy husband living in UK.
She came back...and I decided to get out of the whole story!
So now, we are back again to the same Weinstube, one year after all...it is 19 day until my 40th birthday and I still have the same wish for my birthday: a British man!
....Richard, you missunderstood me, even you are a very handsome grey-haired man, I still look for a dark-haired man ;)
I hope Parship will fullfil my wishes this time.

Simone
